Baltimore native, acclaimed jazz vibraphonist Warren Wolf delighted our audiences when he appeared with Cyrus Chestnut. Now he returns with a quintet co-led by his SFJAZZ Collective band-mate, Venezuelan pianist Edward Simon, and featuring alto saxophonist Tia Fuller. Mr. Wolf tours worldwide with such greats as Wynton Marsalis, Christian McBride, Esperanza Spaulding, and Ron Carter. Edward Simon is an audacious, critically acclaimed artist who, having absorbed the full range of Latin influence, now brings it to the next level. Tia Fuller, among her many credits, was a featured soloist with Beyoncé in performance at the White House for President Obama.
Brazilian bossa nova, Argentine tango, Cuban bolero, Chilean, Puerto Rican, his native Venezuelan, jazz pianist-composer-arranger Edward Simon creates supple interpretations of Latin America’s rhythms. In a unique voice, composer and instrumentalist speak a musical language that transcends genre. His quintet’s performances are an outpouring of exuberant emotion, lyrical and colorful.
Musically fearless, alto saxophonist-composer Tia Fuller transcends the boundaries of tradition, style, genre. Her jazz chops sizzle on behalf of the hottest artists in music today. She tours internationally with pop star Beyoncé Knowles and was featured soloist with Beyoncé in performance at the White House for President Barack Obama.
